As a Hot Dog lover I feel we are under siege with constant headlines attacking the health and safety of eating hot dogs.
Apparently, there was a temperature malfunction at one of their warehouses so that all the hot dogs that were stored there between June 7 and October 14 could have been affected. I may have eaten some of these dogs. By my log I had Kayem hot dogs at Mickey's Oceanic grille and Nicki's Dog House. during this period, but I'm still standing.
The article does note "there have not been any illnesses linked to the recall."
I think another food subject to "temperature abuse" would have caused massive illness and maybe even deaths, but not the indestructible hot dog.
A better headline would have been. "Heroic Hot Dogs brave "temperature abuse" and continue to feed and nourish millions!"
For my dog tonight, I had a Trader Joes uncured dog in a Trader Joe's brioche roll with some garlic butter seasoning and cheese on it.
Day 93 and still standing.
