I started this blog in 2013 and subtitled it "A father and his daughters set out in search of great Connecticut Hot Dogs." Now 2026 (my daughters grown) I am visiting historic and other CT hot dog places. I am not a food connoisseur (I don't like mustard, relish or ketchup), so I won't be commenting on subtle flavors. The reviews will be about the experience and in most cases will say the hot dogs were great! which is not hard because Connecticut hot dogs are great!
Sweeny's (2013)
In New Haven on Long Warf Drive nestled among all the Mexsican Food Truck's is Sweeny's.
You can't get a more basic hot dog than what Sweeny serves. Boiled hot dog. Condiments if you like. I take mine plain.
